Starting a Practice
Then somewhere along the way, you lost your way...
From medical school to residency and beyond, you've sacrificed yourself to save others. While prioritizing them, you eventually put yourself in danger. Risking your life to secure your livelihood.
The care you provided to others was not provided to you. What you experienced was not what you signed up for. There was not even any fine print to warn you otherwise.
A 'broken' system preyed on your altruism, leaving you broken in the process. As a physician wellness coach, it's my passion to work together to put your pieces back together!

You are a persistent premed student, who made it through STEM curriculum designed to discourage the casual dreamer and intended to weed out the chosen from the wannabees...
You are a junior medical student, who endured grueling courses and frequent examinations, sacrificing your present for your future, while conducting animal experiments and dissecting human cadavers...
You are a senior medical student, who was ridiculed by everyone more senior that you (including the nurses) for being short on knowledge, out of place, and out of sorts (like your short white coat) as you rotated through hospital units like an orphan in search of a home...
You are an impressionable intern, who tolerated being hazed like an NFL rookie in training camp, but for much longer, while being pimped by the attendings you aspired to be as you were prostituted as an expert in digital rectal examinations...
You are a resilient resident struggling to manage life and work, watching your contemporaries living life unencumbered while you and your colleagues forget what normal life is like in between taking call and taking cover...
You are a chief resident or fellow, second-guessing your career path and questioning your ability, but you've invested too much time and energy to turn back now; so you forge ahead to the guiding light at the end of the tunnel only to be greeted by a dumpster fire instead...
You are an academic attending, who is juggling the responsibilities of teaching, research, publishing, and committees, while battling bureaucracy and wondering if your position is as secure as you assumed it to be...
You are a private practice physician, who is juggling the responsibilities of marketing, billing, human resources, and customer service, while loathing autonomy as you calculate the cost of the price you paid for your imaginary emancipation...
You are a medical martyr willing to advocate for your patients against insurance companies, big pharma, and other agencies whose agendas keep you burned out and buried under student loans, electronic documentation, and prior authorizations...
You are a devout doctor who took an oath to do no harm, so you take it personally when any harm occurs to patients on your watch, even if it was out of your control...
You are a kind-hearted and selfless soul, whose love language is acts of service; whose generosity is taken advantage of and whose boundaries are habitually ignored for more demands of your time, to which you could never reply 'No'...
You are a whole human, who finds it challenging to process feelings because you've been conditioned to only process thoughts and to compartmentalize your emotions, so that the next patient doesn't feel the fallout from the last one...
You are a high-achieving, problem-solving, critical-thinking, do-it-all, who is stuck on how to get unstuck, unfulfilled in all your accomplishments and isolated from help because you've distanced yourself from ever receiving it...
Take my hand, and let me help you, to help you. Before you were anything described above, YOU were YOU. Your identity should be in your purpose as a person, not in your performance as a physician. Let's engage in YOUR self-exploration, self-discovery, and self-revelation during this journey together. Start here.
My goal is to help you optimize your outlook on your life. I have been were you are now, and made it to the other side. My individualized accountability approach will help you attain your goals.
As a private practice physician who successfully navigated burnout and career transition, I have the tools and understanding to help you to create the life you imagine and get a renewed sense of self.
Coaching will help you feel seen, heard, valued, and validated. It only requires you committing to yourself. My commitment is to provide you with accountability, understanding and support that helps you move forward.
Your mind is your best friend, but sometimes it can also be your worst enemy.
Your mind is constantly sabotaging your potential for both performance and happiness. All your negative emotions, including stress, are the result of self-sabotage.
Our breakthrough, research-based tools strengthen the part of your brain that serves you and quiet the part that sabotages you. You handle life’s challenges with a more positive mindset, and less stress. We call this mental fitness.
Recent advances in functional MRI (fMRI), which measures how neural activity changes blood flow, have allowed scientists and psychologists to witness the real-time working of the brain for the very first time.
We are now able to pinpoint the regions of the brain involved in producing different thoughts or feelings and identify the neural functions involved with the activation of Saboteurs and the Sage.
Saboteurs are the voices in your head that generate negative emotions when you handle life’s challenges. They exist in the brainstem, limbic system, and parts of the left brain. They produce much of your stress, anxiety, self-doubt, anger, shame, guilt, frustration, and mind chatter. These negative emotions are only helpful for a second as they alert you to dangers or issues. However, staying in these emotions hurts your ability to see clearly and choose the most impactful response.
Your Sage lives in an entirely different region of your brain, the middle prefrontal cortex, “empathy circuitry,” and parts of the right brain. It generates positive emotions while handling life’s challenges. These include empathy, compassion, gratitude, curiosity, joy of creativity, and calm, clear-headed laser-focused action. This region is wired for creativity and big-picture awareness of what is important and the best course of action.
Activating this region results in release of endorphins that counter the negative impacts of stress-induced cortisol.
Your brain is made up of neurons. When a signal travels down a neuron, it results in activation of other neurons based on synapses that connect neurons. But there are multiple choices for which direction the signal would travel. The question is which neuron will be activated.
Every time a neuron activates another neuron, they become more closely wired together, making it more likely that the signal will go in that direction the next time around. This constitutes a “neural pathway.”
This is how a repeated action becomes an automatic habit. In Positive Intelligence, we use the powerful 10-second PQ Rep technique as a way of intercepting the old Saboteur responses, so we can pause and choose a new Sage response.
Repetition results in building Sage neural pathways (muscles) to counter the old Saboteur muscles. That is why our training results in sustained change, as opposed to results fading over time. Mental fitness is about building mental muscles, and it is increased when new mental muscles are strengthened through positive habits. Our program focuses on growing three specific mental muscles, which become visible as new neural pathways in MRI imaging within weeks of practice.
Your PQ (Positive Intelligence Quotient) measures the relative strength of your positive versus negative mental muscles.
PQ is the measure of your mental fitness.
If you’re physically fit, you can climb steep hills without physical stress. Similarly, If you’re mentally fit, you can handle life’s great challenges without mental stress, frustration, other negative emotions.
Take our PQ Score Assessment to discover how often your mind is serving you versus sabotaging you.
Saboteurs are the voices in your head that generate negative emotions in the way you handle life’s everyday challenges.
They represent automated patterns in your mind for how to think, feel, and respond. They cause all of your stress, anxiety, self-doubt, frustration, restlessness, and unhappiness. They sabotage your performance, wellbeing, and relationships.
Find out how you sabotage your own performance, wellbeing, and relationships, and how to improve.
Build your foundation of mental fitness over 6 weeks to shift the balance of power from your inner Saboteurs (your negative self) to your inner Sage (your positive self)by strengthening three critical mental muscles:
Through a breakthrough process called PQ Reps, you get to boost your Self-Command muscle. Each PQ Rep only takes 10 seconds and can be done with eyes open or closed. With each PQ Rep, you develop greater mastery over your own mind, quiet the negative, and activate the positive region of your brain.
You get to intercept your top Saboteurs the moment they try to hijack your thoughts, feelings, and actions. In preparation for this practice, you get to expose the lies, limiting beliefs and damage of your Saboteurs, so they can no longer fool you into thinking they are helpful to you.
You get to practice the Sage Perspective that every problem or challenge can be converted into a gift and opportunity. And you get to generate the gift through the 5 Sage Powers of Empathize, Explore, Innovate, Navigate, and Activate.

Our session today was powerful and motivating!
Dr Jimmy is a good listener and understands coaching process. His thoughtful questioning brought my issues to the forefront and gave me the tools to find my own action plans. Jimmy is a top notch coach that is mindful and thorough.
Dr Jimmy held a safe space for me to clear the things in my head that were blocking my vision. He asked me how a listener could best show up for me, and I could tell he heard me. It was the first time I had been asked that question and it allowed me to trust much more easily than I usually do. Because I had that container to share in my own way, I was able to get to the heart of what I needed to discover in that session. It was transformative. I highly recommend working with him!
Dr Jimmy listens actively and asks though-provoking questions while trying to understand the real basis for my issues and concerns. I appreciated his calming and sincere demeanor.
YOU HAVE HOPE
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
YOU HAVE FAITH
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
YOU HAVE PEACE
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”
YOU HAVE REST
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you;
he will never let the righteous be shaken.
